WASTE MANAGEMENT

From the guestroom to the loading dock, waste is a perpetual challenge for hoteliers. Our hotels produce thousands of tons of waste per year, hence, we recognise the opportunity to reduce our environmental impact by implementing dynamic waste and recycling programmes. Our comprehensive waste management systems benefit our hotels by decreasing waste and reducing the cost of waste disposal.

We have designed our recycling programmes to make a difference that lasts for generations by diverting valuable materials and resources from landfills such as plastic, glass, paper, cardboards, metal, oil, electronic waste, and some construction and renovation debris. In addition to recycling, we are targeting to incorporate composting for food and plant waste.

Waste Composting

Beach Rotana, Abu Dhabi saved USD 30,000 by cutting food waste by 40% in just a little over a year since the implementation of Winnow smart scales. The technology helped the team manage, measure and reduce food waste.

This result is a demonstration that with the right tools, commercial kitchens can effectively reduce their waste.
